Diesel and Petrol Prices Raised in Pakistan for a Second Time in July 2026
Despite a steady supply, fuel prices have once again seen a rise, impacting the economy directly
The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) has announced an increase in both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), taking effect from tonight. The latest price hike in petroleum prices comes after tensions between the USA and Iran have taken a new turn for the worse and are affecting the global supply of fuel. Despite the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s assurance of maintaining fuel supplies across the country, fuel prices have steadily climbed for the past two weeks. This is the second time that the price of petrol and diesel has increased in Pakistan during July 2026.
As per the latest announcement, the new prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, effective from July 18, 2026, will be:

As you can see from the table above, HSD has gained massively in price with a whopping Rs. 30. This will affect the supply of goods across the country since most heavy vehicles come with diesel-powered engines. The new prices will go into effect starting tonight at 12:00 AM, so you can expect traffic jams at petrol pumps as people will try to get their tanks full before the new prices go into effect.
In other petroleum news, the Government of Pakistan has also announced that instead of weekly price revisions, the ministry and OGRA will now decide the fuel prices daily due to the ongoing political tensions between the USA and Iran. Unless things settle down, we cannot expect any sort of relief in these prices. Moving on, the prices will be changed every night until the government announces a weekly or monthly check on the prices.
