Great Wall Motors and Sazgar Celebrate First Locally Assembled H6 GT in Pakistan

The first locally assembled H6 GT rolls off GWM Pakistan’s KD production line, bringing the performance-focused PHEV closer to its local launch.

Great Wall Motors and Sazgar Engineering Works have officially rolled off the first locally assembled Haval H6 GT in Pakistan, marking a major milestone for the Chinese manufacturer. The H6 GT was assembled at the GWM Pakistan KD Plant, where the company also manufactures other locally produced models such as the base H6 and its PHEV models. The announcement was made by the company on its official social media platforms and showed the factory team along with the brand-new H6 GT manufactured at the plant.

Haval had earlier confirmed that the H6 GT PHEV is indeed coming to Pakistan after a few imported models were spotted driving around in the country. With local assembly now underway, an official public reveal and launch announcement could follow, although Haval has yet to confirm a launch date. In international markets, the H6 GT competes in the same broad segment as models such as BYD Sealion 6, Volkswagen T-ROC, KIA Sportage, and Hyundai Tucson.

You should note that while the normal Haval H6 PHEV is a practical family SUV, the H6 GT PHEV offers a massive battery upgrade, increased engine power, and a multi-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The upgrades are not limited to its power; to manage this increased power, GWM has also upgraded the braking system to handle the additional performance.

In the international market, the H6 GT comes with a 35.4 kWh battery, which can deliver around 180 – 183 km of pure electric driving. It can produce around 321 kW of power with 762 Nm of torque. This allows the H6 GT to have a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.9 seconds. Smart AWD management also helps with this insane acceleration figure for an SUV. The H6 GT also ditches the boxy SUV styling of the standard H6 and adopts a sportier, sloping roofline, with aero splitters and a shark-inspired nose at the front. On the rear, you will also find dual exhaust tips. The trade-off is reduced boot space compared with the conventional H6, largely due to the sloping roofline.

While the CKD units have started rolling down the production line, Sazgar and GWM have yet to announce additional details about the vehicle, including its engine specifications, powertrain, interior, safety, and its price range. Given its performance-oriented positioning and additional equipment, the H6 GT is likely to sit above the current Haval H6 variants in Pakistan, although pricing has not yet been announced.
