Capital Smart Motors has announced that it is discontinuing two variants of its electric RD6 pickup truck, while the remaining two variants will see a price increase. Based on this new announcement, the Riddara RD6 Ultra and Riddara RD6 Air have been discontinued, while the prices of Riddara RD6 Pro and Riddara RD6 Econ will get an increased price.

The discontinued variants of the Riddara RD6 include:

  • Riddara RD6 Ultra
  • Riddara RD6 Air

The new prices of the available Riddara RD6 models are:

All future orders for Riddara RD6 Econ and Pro will be based on the new prices. Riddara is a Chinese brand, and it is imported into Pakistan as a joint venture with Capital Smart Motors. Capital Smart Motors cites that the price increase and the decision to discontinue two models of the RD6 are based on the Finance Act 2026 and the Federal Budget for Fy2026-27. Based on the new budget, the motor industry has come under pressure because of increased taxes, duties, and tariffs, resulting in higher prices for imported vehicles and even locally manufactured vehicles.

Capital Smart Motors is not the only manufacturer to increase vehicle prices. Other manufacturers to introduce car price increases recently include Suzuki, Chery, and KIA. BYD has hinted that a price hike might be around the corner when it announced that customers can book their vehicles and pay the full price before August 2026 ends to secure the price lock benefit.
