Petrol and Diesel Price in Pakistan Reduced Further For August 5, 2026

The federal government has announced another cut in petrol and diesel prices, offering further relief to motorists nationwide.

The Government of Pakistan has further reduced the price of petrol and diesel in Pakistan. The new petrol price in Pakistan for August 5, 2026, is now Rs. 328.56, after a decrease of Rs. 3.39, and the new diesel price is now Rs. 385.56, after a decrease of Rs. 4.07. The new prices will go live tonight at 12 AM and will remain live until tomorrow night, when the next price revision will be announced.

Ever since the prices started increasing, diesel only saw an increase in its price, and its first decrease was yesterday. These new prices will make commuting easier and will not increase the prices of daily commodities, if not decrease. People can expect stable prices for another day.

This is the third week of the Government of Pakistan revising petrol prices on a daily basis. This decision had garnered discomfort from not only the general population but also from petroleum associations and dealers as well. The petroleum association announced a strike, but it was later deferred after the Government of Pakistan promised a revision of the policy in two weeks. It will be interesting to see how the policy is changed once it is revised.
