Ora 5 Officially Launched in Pakistan by Great Wall Motors and Sazgar
The new electric crossover joins GWM's growing EV lineup in Pakistan with a 435 km WLTC range, Level 2 ADAS, and bookings now open nationwide.
Sazgar and Great Wall Motors (GWM) have officially launched their brand-new compact crossover EV, the Ora 5, in Pakistan. After teasing its arrival a day earlier, Sazgar and Great Wall Motors have now officially unveiled the Ora 5 in Pakistan. The new model slots between the Ora 03 hatchback and the flagship Ora 07 sedan, expanding GWM’s growing EV lineup in Pakistan. With its latest offering, GWM has further expanded its lineup with its ninth official model in Pakistan, making it the only Chinese brand in Pakistan to offer such a large range.
Engine, Battery, and Drivetrain
The Ora 5 features a single electric motor that delivers 201 HP and 260 Nm of torque. The motor enables the Ora 5 to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in around eight seconds. Power comes from a 58.33 kWh battery pack that offers a WLTC-certified range of 435 KMs. AC Charging supports 6.6 kW, which can charge it from 0-100% in 6.6 hours, while DC Fast Charging can charge it from 10-80% in 30 minutes.
Infotainment and Interior
Inside the Ora 5, you will find a 14.6-inch multi-touch display that supports 2K resolution, along with a 10.25-inch digital cluster. It also has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 9-speaker Audio system. A 50W fast wireless charger is also present in the lower section of the dashboard. The driver’s seat is 6-way power adjustable with 3 memory storage options. The front seats also offer heating and ventilation in the Ultra trim. The Ultra also offers 4-way power adjustable seats for the passenger. Other notable features include an electric tailgate along with a panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade and ambient lighting.
ADAS Suite
Ora 5 comes with a full Level 2 ADAS Suite including 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, emergency lane keep, lane centering, front and rear cross traffic alert with braking, and forward and rear collision warning with AEB. For the driver, it offers camera-based fatigue and distraction detection.
Color Options
Ora 5 is currently offered in eight unique color options. These include Ash Grey, Cyan, Flamingo Pink, Matte Grey, Yellow, Black, White, and Emerald Green.
Price
The Ora 5 is priced at Rs. 8,599,000 (ex-factory), making it more affordable than the Ora 03, which retails for Rs. 8,999,000. Above both sits the Ora 07 sedan, available in FWD and AWD variants priced at Rs. 15.3 million and Rs. 17.5 million, respectively. On paper, the Ora 5 offers stronger specifications than the Ora 03 despite carrying a lower price tag.
Competition
In Pakistan, the Ora 5 will directly compete with other B-segment crossovers and SUVs like KIA Stonic, Corolla Cross, MG ZS HEV, Honda HR-V, and BYD Atto 3. Due to its smaller profile, it may be compared with bigger hatchbacks like Dongfeng Box and Suzuki Swift, but its higher price tag puts it directly in the crosshairs of the B-segment SUVs and crossovers.
The launch further strengthens competition in Pakistan’s growing EV market, where Chinese manufacturers continue expanding their presence with a wider range of electric crossovers and SUVs aimed at mainstream buyers. More and more buyers are introducing their HEV and PHEV models, such as the recently launched MG ZS HEV, KIA Sorento PHEV, and Omoda 7 PHEV.
