Since the start of this week, petrol and diesel prices have been on an upward trend, adding further pressure to transportation and operating costs across the country. Diesel prices can have a significant impact on inflation because diesel-powered commercial vehicles, freight trucks and agricultural machinery play a major role in moving goods and supporting economic activity. Higher diesel costs can therefore feed into transportation, logistics and agricultural expenses, eventually putting pressure on the prices of goods and services.
