The Final Petrol and Diesel Price Revision Arrives, Locking the Price for the Weekend
The revised fuel prices will remain effective throughout the weekend before the next official revision on Monday.
The Government of Pakistan has announced new prices for petrol and diesel for the weekend, locking down prices until next Monday. According to the latest revision, the updated price of petrol is Rs. 327.62, with a decrease of Rs. 2.20, while the new price of diesel is Rs. 380.86 after a decrease of Rs. 1.50. Since the prices are not revised on weekends and holidays, these prices will remain live until the upcoming Monday night, when the next revision will take place. The new petrol and diesel price will go live at 12 AM tonight in Pakistan, for August 8, 2026, and will remain active until the next revision.

Yesterday, both petrol and diesel saw a decrease in prices, with petrol dropping to Rs. 329.82, after a decrease of Rs. 3.19, while diesel dropped to Rs. 382.36, after a decrease of Rs. 1.50. It was a minor decrease, but at this point, even a small decrease or no change means a little bit of economic stability. A decrease this small does not result in anything major for the economy, but it does allow the general public some relief, both mentally and financially.

The Government of Pakistan is so far continuing the daily revisions of both petrol and diesel prices, and at this point, it is not known when this policy will be revised and whether the country will go back to monthly, or even weekly, revisions. Multiple petroleum associations have shown discontent over daily revisions, and tanker associations have also announced a strike, but so far, there have not been any changes to the policy.
