BYD’s Latest Round of OTA Updates Brings UI Optimization, Bug Fixes, and New Features Across its Lineup
Atto 2, Atto 3, and Seal Owners can upgrade their vehicles to get access to new features, optimizations and bug fixes
BYD Pakistan has announced the launch of the latest OTA Updates for three of its models, including the Atto 2, Atto 3, and Seal. The new range of updates focuses on improving the UI, optimizing the experience, and removing some bugs currently present in its models. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates are designed to provide EV consumers with an easy way to update their vehicle’s software to improve overall usability, fix issues, and sometimes add new features.
Starting with the BYD Atto 2, the Version 2.1.2 update brings new features, optimizations, and bug fixes. Owners will find a new Vehicle Account Memory Linkage along with CarPlay and Android options right on the desktop. Its voice control system now also supports Intelligent Voice Control for Climate Control, which means that drivers can speak to the vehicle and tell it their desired temperature that they want to set with climate control. Along with bug fixes, optimizations include UI display and text prompt improvements, multi-language translations, navigation bar controls for ventilated seats, and CarPlay and Android Auto enhancements.

Moving to BYD Atto 3, Version 1.11.1 is now live for all vehicles, and it comes with more optimizations and bug fixes than features. Only two new features are in this update for the BYD Atto 3, including the ability to switch accounts along with CarPlay and Android Auto Options on the desktop. Coming to optimizations, it brings UI display and text prompts along with multi-language translations similar to BYD Atto 2. With the new update, BYD Atto 3 finally has Cruise Control and a Radar Warning System along with CarPlay and Android Auto Enhancements. Bug fixes also include some general improvements to improve the overall experience.

Finally, BYD Seal gets Version 2.0.0, which brings a host of new features and optimizations. Starting with, multiple accounts can be signed in at the same time thanks to the account switch functionality. It brings new BYD Assistant Voice Controls, allowing drivers to complete more tasks by simply speaking with the car. It brings some much-needed Intelligent Cruise Control enhancements, lane departure assist enhancements, and cloud data management. Owners can now schedule Smart Charging as well. Other optimizations include UI display and text prompts, multi-language translations, CarPlay and Android Auto enhancements, along with the Gear Shift Experience. Bug fixes and general improvements are similar to other models in the latest OTA updates.

Along with the release of the latest updates for its lineup, BYD Pakistan has also issued some important safety instructions that owners must keep in mind while updating the software. One thing BYD makes clear is that this is a big and time-consuming update that could take around 1 or 2 hours, so it must be done when the vehicle is not intended for use for some time. The vehicle must be parked on a flat surface and put in P gear to ensure that it does not start moving while the update is in progress.

BYD also suggests that the vehicle has a stable internet connection to ensure a steady download of the update file. The vehicle must be kept turned on until the screen displays a confirmation message that the update is complete. The update must not be started during certain scenarios, for example when connected to an external OB device, during battery charging or discharging, or in transport mode, as these situations may lead to update corruption and bricking the system software. Temporary issues like screen flickering, warning lights coming on or off, or blackouts are common, so BYD suggests owners complete the update before contacting the service centers.
