BYD Surpasses 10,000 Sales in Pakistan as EV Market Continues to Expand
BYD and Mega Motors have reached the 10,000-unit sales milestone in Pakistan, highlighting the brand's rapid expansion in the country's emerging new-energy vehicle market.
BYD and Mega Motor Company have announced that the automaker has surpassed 10,000 vehicle sales in Pakistan, marking a significant sales milestone for the Chinese new-energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer roughly two years after its official launch in the country.
BYD entered Pakistan through a partnership with Mega Motor Company, a subsidiary of Hub Power Company, initially introducing three models: the Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 6. Since then, the company has expanded its local lineup to five models and six variants, adding the Atto 2 and Shark 6 to its range.

The milestone comes as Pakistan’s NEV market continues to develop, with an increasing number of Chinese automakers entering the country with electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended vehicles.
BYD is also preparing to move from importing vehicles to local production in Pakistan. At the Pakistan Auto Show 2026, the company announced plans to begin local manufacturing, with the Sealion 6 expected to be the first model produced locally.
The company’s manufacturing facility in Gharo, Sindh, is currently nearing completion. Once operational, the plant is expected to transition BYD’s Pakistan operations toward local production rather than relying solely on imported vehicles. Local manufacturing could also improve vehicle availability and reduce delivery waiting times, although the extent of these improvements will depend on production capacity and demand.
The 10,000-unit milestone also provides an indication of BYD’s growing presence in Pakistan’s relatively young NEV market. Chinese automakers currently account for a significant portion of the country’s emerging electrified-vehicle segment, with several brands entering the market in recent years.
For BYD, reaching 10,000 sales before the start of local production gives the company an established customer base as it prepares for the next phase of its operations in Pakistan. The eventual start of local manufacturing could further expand its presence by making additional vehicles more readily available in the market.
