In a rare occurrence, the government reduced the petrol price yesterday by only Rs. 1, and the diesel price was raised. The small relief lasted only one day, and today, the prices have been raised once again. The diesel price has reached its highest price compared to the last few months, and its effects will be clear in the coming days, as it will hit the economy hard.
| Fuel Type | Price on July 23 | Price on July 24 | Price on July 25 | Price on July 27 | Price on July 28 | Difference since last week |
| Petrol | Rs. 327 | Rs. 331.52 | Rs. 335.18 | Rs. 334.18 | Rs. 335.81 | Rs. 8.81 |
| Diesel | Rs. 375 | Rs. 379.02 | Rs. 383.46 | Rs. 386.83 | Rs. 388.38 | Rs. 13.38 |
As of now, the Government of Pakistan has no plans to switch back to a weekly or monthly price revision policy, despite a strong backlash from dealers, petroleum associations, and the general population. The government shifted to its daily price revision infrastructure last week, and since then, the prices of both petrol and diesel have climbed steadily.
